This website is dedicated to the Patagonia Mountains of Southern Arizona, as well as the culture of borderlandia in the surrounding area. Borderlandia culture is a result of influences from the people living on both sides of the border. Despite the negative attention given by the national media, the area is safer than most U.S. cities.

Still, why "los patagones" and who were they? According to Wikipedia, these were/are los patagones:

The Patagones or Patagonian giants were a race of giant humans rumored to be living in Patagonia and described in early European accounts. They were said to have exceeded at least double normal human height, with some accounts giving heights of 13 to 15 feet (4 to 4.5 m) or more. Tales of these people would maintain a hold upon European conceptions of the region for nearly 300 years.
